By now, you should probably already know that Virgil Abloh is probably a mixmaster of fashion. Virgil Abloh is the creative director of Off White, and also has been fashion consultant to Kanye West in the year 2002, at the age of 22. Growing up in the 1990s in Chicago, Abloh was listening to music by Nirvana, rap, and hip-hop and he also felt that when listening to music, he couldn’t wait what the artists were going to wear in the music video. That’s where his inspiration came from, which he had made from scratch into a multi-million dollar T-shirt business.
Born to British music legend Paul McCartney of The Beatles – Stella McCartney – British fashion designer famous for her advocacy for the environment created the Falabella Tote for self-named label. Through her label, McCartney has proven that luxury does not mean taking life and harming the environment – hence, applauds must be given to her for creating a line of luxury accessories that does not come with cruelty.
However, some people question, why is it that Stella McCartney sell her bags over $1000 when she does not use any leather? What is the quality of the materials used on her bags? Is it purely PVC…or what?
Okay…here are the few things by faux-leather bags produced by Stella McCartney are sold at a high price. First of all, Stella happens to be the one and only luxury fashion designer in the industry who believes in ethical fashion and sees no reason why a living thing has to be compromised in the name of luxury and yet, her designs are exquisite. When you pay for a premium price for a luxury designer item, you pay for the detailing that goes into making the product, the design of the product, the exclusivity of the product and of course, the brand name. Basically, designer pieces are like pieces of art. It is true that the material used on Stella’s bags are PVC but the quality is way above the standard PVC and – in fact – they are pretty amazing.

It’s time to say goodbye Louis Vuitton’s signature chocolate brown shopping bags that have been identical with the brand for decades now. The 162-year-old fashion house is saying hello to a new, brighter look for its packaging. ‘Imperial Saffron,’ as they call the new product packaging, was recently seen during the ‘Volez, Voguez, Voyagez’ exhibition. Although it is deemed new, the shade is not actually all that state-of-the-art for Louis Vuitton. In fact, the saffron tone first appeared early in the history of the Maison and can be found on the ‘Citroën’ trunk made by Louis Vuitton for an expedition to Africa launched by a French automobile firm in 1924.

From now on, the Louis Vuitton packaging will feature the ‘Imperial Saffron’ shade highlighted with blue. The color blue is a complementary color used by the fashion house in early personalization details from 1854 onwards but also has been its ribbons since many decades. The two colors combined give a very modern yet eternal look that is (more…)
Are you looking for a bag that is classic and stylish, yet durable? Here are some tips to guide you on how to take care of your leather bags.
First, you have to know the type of leather your bag is made of. There are five common types of skins: leather bags that are vegetable-tanned with tannin, chrome-tanned skin, full-grain leather, top-grain leather, and widely coveted exotic leather bags made from non-cattle skin and patent leather.
Secondly, you have to regularly clean your bag. Cleaning your bag is simple: it is to remove accumulated dirt on your bag by wiping it down with a cleanser made specifically for the type of leather your bag is made of. Most labels have their in-house leather care range, or they will usually recommend you a particular brand of cleanser. So, never forget to ask for care recommendations and recommended products when you buy your bag! (more…)

Empowering women through ready-to-wear collection / Saint Laurent Paris history
Founded by Yves Saint Laurent and his partner Pierre Bergé in 1961, the eponymous brand Saint Laurent Paris is considered as one of the most prominent luxury fashion houses in the world – famous for its modern and iconic pieces, including tuxedo jackets for women in 1966, named as the ‘Le Smoking’ suit (arguably the most classic tuxedo suit for women).
Apart from the ‘Le Smoking’ suit, Saint Laurent Paris popularized fashion trends, including the beatnik look, safari jackets for men and women, tight pants, and tall, thigh-high boots during the 1960s and 1970s. Having Loulou de La Falaise, Betty Catroux, Taliltha Pol-Getty and Catherine Deneuve as his muses, founder and then creative director Yves Saint Laurent also started mainstreaming the idea of wearing silhouettes from the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s by popularizing prêt-à-porter in attempt to democratize fashion as well as to empower women by creating contemporary women’s wardrobe.
